Previously, this streaming capability was available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets, but this marks the first time it's been extended to Xbox consoles. This innovation allows users to save time on downloads and conserve valuable hard drive space.
To start streaming on an Xbox console, follow these simple steps:
- Go to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
- Look for the cloud badge on the game page, indicating that it's available for cloud streaming.
- Use the filters to quickly find games by selecting Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
- Select the game and choose Play with Cloud Gaming to start streaming.
- You can also begin streaming directly from the Store app after purchasing select cloud playable games.
Conversely, users can stream any game installed on their Xbox consoles to devices with supported web browsers via this link. Note that this feature is no longer supported on the Xbox mobile app, but remains available on phones through the provided browser link. Xbox is actively working to extend this feature to Samsung and Amazon Fire smart TVs, as well as Meta Quest headsets.
