Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans vote on the next official merchandise items! A whopping 100 options are available, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but submissions can be made on the official website.
While some choices are more conventional, like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or pencil case, many others draw from the series' famously eccentric history. The selection includes truly bizarre, yet iconic, items.
Notable choices include Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, the giant traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options range from Majima's sake cup to Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
2025 will see at least one new game release to mark the anniversary: Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean (This is a joke, the real title is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) launching February 21st. While a second release is unconfirmed, RGG Studio's prolific output in recent years (nine games in the last five years!) suggests it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility. The studio previously celebrated its 10th anniversary with the release of Yakuza 0, setting a high bar for this milestone.
