Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of Helldivers 2 (released a year ago), is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan input.
Community suggestions ranged from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and also hinted at a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail game" genre.
While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio's next title faces high expectations, following Helldivers 2's success as a standout game of 2024.
A recent update significantly boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, a surprise drop at the 2024 Game Awards, introduced the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, delighting players. With a rumored Killzone crossover on the horizon, Helldivers 2 is poised for continued success in 2025.
