Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the end of service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch, a stark contrast to the thriving Japanese version which launched in September 2023 and is celebrating its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.

The End is Nigh (March 28th, 2025)

The global server closure coincides ironically with the Japanese server's anniversary celebrations. While Japanese players will be experiencing Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will conclude their journey with Chapter 21 (Part 1). In-game purchases are already disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued events and content leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary on January 25th, 2025, now feels bittersweet.

Reasons for Closure: A Recipe for Failure

The developers cited an inability to maintain satisfactory player standards as the reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system almost immediately after launch. While the main characters were well-received, issues with gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep ultimately led to the game's demise.

Global players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to bid farewell. For those seeking a new mobile gaming experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year event.
