Atomfall Shows Off Gameplay Ahead of March Release

Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a glimpse into this post-apocalyptic world.

The trailer positions Atomfall as a spiritual successor to titles like Fallout and STALKER, showcasing exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research bunkers. Survival hinges on scavenging resources and facing threats from hostile robots and cultists, alongside the dangers of the environment itself.

Combat blends melee and ranged encounters, utilizing a range of weapons, including a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle. These weapons are upgradeable, hinting at a deeper arsenal waiting to be discovered. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and tactical tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials.

Character progression is facilitated through unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning. These skills, acquired via training manuals, will likely be key to overcoming the game's challenges.

Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, Atomfall will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release further in-depth videos soon, promising more details for eager fans. The initial trailer successfully piqued interest, particularly with its Game Pass inclusion, following its initial June reveal at the Xbox Summer Game Fest showcase.
