Set on a bizarre Jupiter space station, shrouded in acid rain and mystery, Universe for Sale plunges players into a unique world. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks alongside cultists bartering flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the uncanny ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a dilapidated mining colony shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Your exploration leads you to Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, where a captivating mystery unfolds as you shift between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.
Lila's gameplay involves a universe-creation mini-game, blending ingredients to produce stunning visual worlds. The Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Every character, human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, enriching the detailed world ripe for exploration.
