A charming new puzzle platformer, Cato: Buttered Cat, is on its way to Android! The game's quirky title—a portmanteau of "cat" and "toast"—perfectly encapsulates its unique gameplay. Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the result is a perpetually spinning feline in a delightful anti-gravity loop!
Originally a 2022 BOOOM Gamejam entry by Team Woll, the game's positive reception led to its full development. Currently available on Steam for PC, Cato: Buttered Cat is soon heading to Android and other platforms. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register via the official TapTap page.
Gameplay:
Control both a cat and a piece of buttered toast to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and explore whimsical worlds. With five unique environments, 200 levels (including side quests), and 30 different outfits, there's plenty to discover. The cat's agility and the toast's projectile capabilities create dynamic interactions, allowing access to areas otherwise unreachable. Hidden rooms and Easter eggs add to the replayability.
