As you explore the city, you'll find these large paper butterflies pinned to tree trunks, surrounded by real butterflies. Collecting them leads you to discover disturbing notes, revealing the Butterfly Collector's true nature—a secret society of women intent on kidnapping children from wealthy families to gain power and influence. Your mission is clear: stop them at all costs. The faction consists of five members, each with their own story and location.
How and Where To Find All Butterfly Collector Members in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To locate each member, you'll need to follow geographical clues scattered throughout the game. We'll help you pinpoint their locations, making your quest more manageable.
Shucho
Shucho's carelessness provides your entry point into the group. She lost a kidnapped child in the Fishermen’s District at the southeastern tip of Osaka. Dressed in green, she can be found frantically searching at an intersection. Use Naoe's blade or Yasuke's weapons to take her down, then rescue the child hiding behind nearby horses.
Mucho
Head northwest from Shucho's location, crossing the bridge to reach the Kojo ruins. Mucho, disguised as a family jochu, is struggling with her target on the road south of the ruins. Use the child's resistance to your advantage, and when Mucho attacks, end her threat. Escort the child back to her mother before moving on to the next target.
Richo
Richo, a young woman who pretends to be of higher standing, can be found in the northern end of Osaka, specifically in Noda Village across the water. Rumors of a suspicious woman entering and exiting a bamboo grove lead you to her. Dressed in pink, she's checking on a ransom payment. Confront her, save the child, and continue your mission.
Kacho
After dealing with the previous targets, you'll face Kacho, the leader of the Butterfly Collector. Her cult-like control over her followers makes her a formidable opponent. She's located just north of the Nishinomaru Garden, west of Osaka Castle, in a restricted zone. Follow the butterflies to find her, engage in conversation, and prepare for a deadly confrontation. Kacho's demise leaves one final member to address.
Gamemaker
The Gamemaker, who initiated the butterfly collecting quest, awaits your judgment. As a former victim, she created the game to expose the Butterfly Collector's crimes and save others. You must decide her fate—punishment or a chance at redemption. Choosing the latter allows her to start anew with a different identity. Your decision concludes the Butterfly Collector storyline, earning you 5,500 XP toward your next level.
