Fortnite Hunters brings a wealth of content to kick off the launch of Chapter 6, including an all-new map unique to the chapter, featuring a variety of grand locations, additional movement mechanics, and demonic bosses to battle. Alongside these map changes, players can get their hands on a wide arsenal of weaponry.
From the Fury Assault Rifle to the Oni Shotgun, this season's weapons offer plenty of diversity. While these are excellent for ranged combat, players looking to get up close and personal may find the Typhoon Blade to be a perfect choice. Here’s how to get the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite.
Updated on January 15, 2025, by Nathan Round: The Typhoon Blade has quickly become one of the go-to weapons for both gaining a mobility boost and excelling in close-quarters combat. This guide has been updated to include guaranteed methods for acquiring the Typhoon Blade, providing a helpful boost for players struggling to find the item.
How To Get The Typhoon Blade
Looting Typhoon Blade Stands
The first and most reliable way to acquire the Typhoon Blade is by looting it from a Typhoon Blade Stand. These stands are located at designated spawn points around the island. However, while each spot offers a chance of finding one, they do not spawn every time. Some notable locations players can check include:
- Flooded Frogs
- Magic Mosses
- Lost Lake
- Nightshift Forest
- Shogun's Solitude
Once players have located a Typhoon Blade Stand, all they have to do is head over to it and press the Interact Button to claim the weapon.
Chests & Floor Loot
For those looking to avoid battling it out at contested POIs, the Typhoon Blade can also be found in Chests and as floor loot. Obtaining the item this way will require a bit of luck, but it ensures that players can still get their hands on it even if the stand in their area has already been looted.
Defeating Demon Warriors
The next way to obtain a Typhoon Blade is by defeating a Demon Warrior. Demon Warriors can be found in various locations around the map, with three spawning at active portals each match. They are marked on the map for players to track, and while defeating them provides a chance of dropping a Typhoon Blade if they are wielding one in battle, Demon Warriors can also carry one of two Oni Masks.
Purchase From Kendo
While the previous methods offer a chance of obtaining the Typhoon Blade, there is one guaranteed way to acquire it. Players can purchase the Typhoon Blade from Kendo using Gold Bars. Kendo can be found northeast of Nightshift Forest, but players must first complete all five stages of his Melee Expertise Quests to unlock the ability to purchase the Typhoon Blade from him.
Defeating Shogun X (Mythic Only)
Players can also find a Mythic Typhoon Blade on the map, though getting it does require a bit of work. To acquire the Mythic version, players will need to defeat Shogun X over at Shogun's Arena.
How To Use The Typhoon Blade
The Typhoon Blade is a melee weapon that not only deals damage but can also be used as a mobility item, thanks to the range of abilities it provides. However, the weapon cannot be used indefinitely, as it consumes durability with each use. Once its durability runs out, players will lose the item entirely.
Here is a quick breakdown of the Typhoon Blade's abilities:
- Passive Ability: Provides players with increased sprint speed and reduced stamina consumption while the blade is equipped.
- Attack: Press the Shoot Button to perform a slash attack, dealing 30 damage per hit. Attacks can be chained together to perform a combo attack, with the final blow dealing 50 damage. Can also be used in midair to perform a downward attack, which nullifies fall damage.
- Cyclone Slash: Press the Aim Button to deal a heavy attack, dealing 90 damage and throwing enemies in the opposite direction. Will go into a 10-second cooldown after each use.
- Wind Leap: Press the Jump Button during a sprint to leap into the air. Nullifies fall damage.
- Air Dash: Press the Jump Button in midair to dash forward. Nullifies fall damage.
