Tomnoki Studio's Sphere Defense is a fresh take on the classic tower defense genre, drawing inspiration from the beloved geoDefense. The developer, a fan of the original, aimed to recreate its simple yet challenging gameplay.
The Story
Earth, or "The Sphere," faces imminent destruction from alien invaders. Humanity, forced underground, develops new technology to fight back. After years of struggle, they finally amass enough firepower for a counteroffensive, placing you in command to save the planet.
Gameplay
Sphere Defense retains the core tower defense loop. Players deploy various units, each with unique strengths, to repel waves of enemies. Successful defense earns resources for upgrading and expanding your arsenal. Difficulty increases the strategic challenge.

Diverse Turrets for Strategic Defense
Sphere Defense features seven unit types, offering strategic combinations for survival. These include:
- Offensive Units: Standard Attack Turrets (single-target), Area Attack Turrets (area-of-effect), and Piercing Attack Turrets (for linear enemy formations).
- Support Units: Cooling Turrets and Incendiary Turrets enhance offensive units.
- Specialized Offensive Units: Fixed-Point Attack Units (precise missile strikes) and Linear Attack Units (satellite laser attacks).
