LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, set to hit the market on May 1, 2025. These releases are timed perfectly to coincide with Disney's celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with the launch of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In previous years, we've seen the release of Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, fans can look forward to the iconic Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, more commonly recognized as Slave I. It's worth noting that the name was changed to Firespray Starship in 2021 following a request from Disney (confirmed by LEGO), due to sensitivities around the term 'slave'. The new name appears to be a permanent fixture now, four years later.

This latest rendition of the Firespray Starship follows a previous large-scale model from 2019, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the ship's appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and included 1007 pieces. The new 2025 model, however, boasts an impressive 2970 pieces, showcasing the ship as it appeared in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This updated version is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring an impressive 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
