Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been releasing a flurry of games recently. We previously covered their deck-building title, Zoeti, and now we're looking at their puzzle game, The Darkside Detective, along with its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (yes, both at once!).

A Glimpse into the Darkside Detective Universe

The game begins on a bleak, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes – a city where the strange, spooky, and utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Our protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his endearing, if occasionally bewildered, partner, Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll join them in solving nine quirky cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-traveling mysteries and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Check out the trailer below!

The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles, including "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."

A standout feature is the game's masterful incorporation of humor into every pixel. If you're interested in playing The Darkside Detective, it's available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. You can also jump straight into A Fumble in the Dark without playing the first game – find it on Google Play as well.
