The expansion opens up a new Swiss route, allowing players to build their railroad empires across Switzerland and its neighboring nations. This introduces a fresh strategic challenge, requiring players to adapt their plans and optimize their route construction. The developer, Marmalade, designed the expansion to appeal to both seasoned players and newcomers, fostering dynamic gameplay.
Country-to-country tickets demand connections between specific countries, offering multiple route choices with varying point values. For example, a ticket might offer connections between France and Germany, Italy, or Austria, each yielding a different point reward upon completion. Similarly, city-to-country tickets require linking a city to a designated country.
Point scoring is based on the highest-value connection completed for each ticket. Failure to complete a connection results in a point deduction based on the ticket's lowest value.
