Poncle, the UK-based developer behind the wildly popular roguelike, Vampire Survivors, has offered a progress update on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 ports. Following the May releases of the game's latest expansion and update, the developer shed light on the anticipated console versions.
Initially launched in December 2021, Vampire Survivors, a top-down shooter challenging players with relentless monster waves, gained critical acclaim. A Nintendo Switch port followed its debut, and the PS4 and PS5 versions were announced in April for a summer release. With summer now underway, Poncle has provided an update.
While a precise release date for the PS4 and PS5 remains elusive, Poncle assures fans it will be revealed shortly, explaining on Twitter that the PlayStation submission process and Trophy implementation have proven more time-consuming than anticipated. This marks Poncle's first foray into PlayStation development, leading to some necessary trial and error with the achievement system. Given the game’s over 200 achievements on Steam, the PlayStation versions promise a similarly rewarding experience.
