Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, set for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event and the first Xbox game showcase of the new year. The event will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
Initially launched in January 2023, the Xbox Developer Direct has become a recurring showcase for upcoming Xbox games. Following the successful 2024 edition, Microsoft continues the tradition with this January 2025 announcement, which was rumored earlier in the month. The show begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.
Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025
Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially revealed in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), known for Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending and may be revealed during the Direct.
Expect More Than Just Three Games
Previous Developer Directs have exceeded 40 minutes in length and showcased multiple games. The 2024 event featured titles such as Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, while these three are confirmed, additional surprises are likely in store for viewers.
