Version 1.4 recently added two permanent battle-focused modes. However, Zenless Zone Zero has a history of incorporating temporary, unique gameplay events. The current "Bangboo vs Ethereal" event, for instance, offers a tower defense experience. This new platformer mode, leaked by Palito, showcases stages reminiscent of Fall Guys. The leak suggests it won't be a permanent addition, but rather exclusive to the Grand Marcel event. It remains unclear whether players will utilize their standard characters or Bangboo within the platformer stages. Rewards are anticipated to include Polychromes and potentially additional free pulls, as previously rumored.
This isn't HoYoverse's first foray into platformer events. Honkai Impact 3rd's 2022 "Midnight Chronicle" event offered similar Fall Guys-style gameplay, featuring chibi versions of existing characters. This precedent suggests Zenless Zone Zero might follow suit, though the popularity of Bangboo characters could lead to their inclusion. The game already allows Bangboo appearances in modes like Hollow Zero, and community demand for expanded Bangboo gameplay is high.
The Version 1.5 update, slated for January 22nd, is highly anticipated. Besides the new platformer event, players expect the arrival of Astra Yao and Evelyn, a potential character skin for Nicole, and possibly an Agent Story for Ellen.
