Squares: The Daily Word Strand Puzzle Challenge!
Squares is a daily word puzzle game where you connect letters on a grid to create words and score points. The goal? Find all the words and achieve the highest score possible!
How to Play:
Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to form words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.
Scoring & Bonus Words:
Earn one point for each letter in a word (a five-letter word scores five points). The game also features bonus words: obscure, archaic, or slang terms. These don't earn points but appear on a separate list, and you can hunt for them even after completing the main puzzle. Each puzzle also includes a "Word of the Day," a special, often longer bonus word, that earns you two extra hints upon discovery.
Game Features:
- Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available every day at midnight.
- Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right to gain a fresh perspective and potentially uncover hidden words.
- Hints: Receive a hint after finding 40% of the words: numbers on letters indicate how many words begin with that letter (0 means no words start with it). Orange letters are no longer used in the main words but might appear in bonus words. Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon), revealing the first letter and search direction of a random word. Sharing the game link with friends grants one extra hint!
