Avowed Celebrates First Month with Major Update and Enhanced Features

Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios have released a celebratory new trailer for Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of the action-RPG, showcasing select reviews and quotes from gaming journalists.

This latest update introduces DLSS 4 support, encompassing Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. These advancements significantly boost performance; NVIDIA showcased a potential three-fold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching up to 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding the game's future support and roadmap are teased for the coming weeks.

Beyond technical enhancements, this update improves the overall player experience. Players now gain an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards for those already in progress (upon game load). Keyboard and mouse users gain a toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature increases font sizes for in-game text, documents, and guides.

While Avowed didn't achieve universal, speechless praise, it still earned strong reviews. Digital Foundry's accolade of the game as a technical "triumph" further solidifies its reputation as a remarkable achievement from Obsidian.
