Dragon Age The Veilguard game director leaves BioWare, players expect studio to shut down

This isn't Dragon Age. The Veilguard's success is undeniable, yet unsettling news regarding BioWare has emerged.

Rumors recently spread online, originating from sources described as "agenda fighters," claiming BioWare Edmonton's closure and the departure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard's game director.

Eurogamer journalists, however, appear to confirm at least part of this; Corinne Boucher, the director, will leave BioWare in the coming weeks. Boucher has been with EA for approximately 18 years, largely dedicated to the Sims franchise.

Eurogamer, however, offers no concrete evidence regarding the potential closure of The Veilguard's development team, classifying it as speculation.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is mixed. While some hail it as a masterpiece, a return to form for BioWare, others consider it a solid RPG with flaws, lacking true greatness.

At the time of writing, no negative Metacritic reviews exist. Most reviewers praise the gameplay, describing The Veilguard as a dynamic and engaging action RPG that demands constant player engagement, particularly on higher difficulty settings.

However, opinions diverge here as well. VGC, for example, criticizes the gameplay as feeling outdated, lacking innovation or originality.
