Assassin's Creed: Shadows Unveils Character Progression and Equipment Details
Ubisoft's latest article spotlights the gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, focusing on the unique progression systems and equipment for Yasuke and Naoe. A key highlight is the enhanced capabilities of the iconic Hidden Blade.
Yasuke and Naoe each boast distinct skill trees reflecting their combat styles: Yasuke's emphasizes samurai techniques, while Naoe's centers on shinobi skills. Skill points unlock weapon-specific abilities and refine fighting styles. Players earn mastery points by completing open-world challenges and defeating formidable foes, such as Daisyo samurai.
A balanced progression system ensures both characters advance at a similar pace. Unlocking powerful abilities requires specific actions, like tracking down a clandestine shinobi group. Other upgrades are linked to the "Knowledge" system, progressing through manuscript study and shrine visits. Reaching Knowledge rank six unlocks a new skill tree.
The equipment system features five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Gear can be upgraded and visually customized by a blacksmith. Armor and weapon perks can significantly impact gameplay.
The Hidden Blade returns, delivering its signature one-hit kill capability. Assassin's Creed: Shadows launches worldwide on March 20th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
