Hill Troll Location in Rune Slayer
The Hill Troll is concealed within a cave on the side of the mountain in Bahlgar. The most straightforward route to reach this location is via the elevator in Lakeshire. Once you descend to Bahlgar, instead of engaging the Beastmen, stick close to the mountain's wall and continue around it. You'll pass two platinum deposits and should then look for an opening on one of the mountain's sides. This is the entrance to the Troll's cave. To access it, you'll need to jump into this opening, ideally on a mount. It may seem tricky at first, but once you've done it, returning to the cave will become second nature. Hill Troll – Strategy, Loot, and Quest
Despite its intimidating appearance, the Hill Troll is one of the more manageable mini-bosses in Rune Slayer. You'll likely face it multiple times, so familiarizing yourself with its attack patterns is key.
Avoid soloing the Hill Troll. Its attacks, though slow and powerful, are predictable and can be dodged or parried. It's best to team up with at least one other player, as many enjoy farming the Troll. After defeating it, the Troll respawns in just 90 seconds.
The Troll wields a giant pillar, and while most of its attacks can be blocked or parried, be cautious when it raises the pillar overhead with both hands; this move stuns, so you'll want to run. With sufficient damage, you can stagger the Troll, and if you're playing as a Warrior Class, a well-timed Counter can stun it.
While the Hill Troll occasionally drops rare equipment, focus on farming Troll Hides and Troll Heads. Troll Hides are essential for crafting solid endgame gear, which, while not the best, will prepare you for tougher challenges like the Mother Spider.
The Troll Head is a key item for the repeatable Hodor Quest. You can hand over a Troll Head to Hodor, located near the cave, every hour for a chance at random, potentially overpowered loot.
Can You Tame the Hill Troll in Rune Slayer?
Unfortunately, taming the Hill Troll is not an option in Rune Slayer, even for Beast Tamer Archers. As a mini-boss, the Troll's size and nature make it unsuitable as a pet. If you're a Beast Tamer Archer, stick to taming the reliable Mud Crab.
