General Changes

Let's kick things off with the core updates to gameplay and interface that are set to transform your journey through Wraeclast.

  • A new League Migrations button allows you to seamlessly transfer your character to parent leagues, making it easier to switch between different game modes.
  • Strongbox mechanics have been revamped. The intervals between enemy waves are now shorter, and the spawned mobs are more distinguishable from those already on the map. A pesky bug that prevented monster spawning has been squashed, and the fog now clears once all enemies are defeated. You'll also encounter Research Strongboxes more often.
  • Runes socketed in your gear can now be swapped out for new ones, giving you more flexibility in your build.
  • Armor effectiveness has been boosted, providing better protection against the dangers of the game world.
  • Character level no longer restricts access to Expedition Vendors, but the rarity of items in these shops now depends on the shop's level, not your character's. This change won't affect existing shops.
  • Minions that die too far from you will now instantly respawn nearby, ensuring they're always by your side.
  • The level of Uncut Gems is now clearly displayed in the item name, making it easier to assess their value.
  • Equipped Charms now show the remaining number of charges, helping you keep track of their usage.
  • Entering a map is now safer, as monsters no longer spawn right at the entrance.
  • Picking up items from the ground is now smoother, even while your character is engaged in other actions like attacking or pulling levers.

The developers have also worked on improving overall game performance, particularly in shadow-heavy areas, speeding up loading times, optimizing boss fights and visual effects, and enhancing gameplay in The Ziggurat Encampment.

  • Scavenged Plating now grants more stacks against stronger enemies, enhancing its utility in tougher fights.
  • The Vine Arrow skill description has been updated to clarify that the projectile only hits enemies upon landing, avoiding confusion.
  • The Pain Offering skill has had its Aura tag removed, altering its interaction with other skills.
  • Skills socketed in a Meta Gem can no longer gain energy, affecting how you build your character.
  • Lightning Bolt has been renamed to Greater Lightning Bolt to reflect its unique source from the Choir of the Storm amulet, and its damage mechanics have been adjusted for better balance.

  • The hitboxes of certain bosses have been adjusted to better match their visual attack animations, making fights more intuitive.
  • The spawn rate of some monsters has been reduced, balancing out the game's pacing.
  • Mob energy shields have been re-evaluated and adjusted to make map clearing more enjoyable.
  • Visual effects for many mobs have been improved, and their attacks have been modified. Over 40 changes in total enhance the overall game experience without drastically altering gameplay.

Endgame Changes

The endgame has been revamped to offer new challenges and rewards:

  • Four new Tower Map areas are now accessible, and the Lost Towers Map has been updated.
  • The Arbiter of Ash boss fight now offers six attempts instead of one, making this challenging battle more approachable. The Falling Flame Seed skill can't be interrupted, and the Flaming Gale skill can't be blocked. The boss now focuses less on Minions and more on players.
  • Map areas now feature checkpoints, and you can encounter, defeat, and loot at least three Rare Monsters per map.
  • The monster balance in several maps has been adjusted, with Untainted Paradise now boasting twice as many monsters.
  • Some areas now contain more chests than before, increasing the potential for loot.
  • Bosses appear more frequently (about once every four maps), but the chance of a Map Boss dropping a Waystone has been lowered.
