Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, offering diverse strategic options from six distinct weapon types. Mix and match to create a character build perfectly suited to your playstyle.
Three melee and three ranged weapon types are available, each fully customizable. Some weapons possess unique charged attack effects. New weapons are acquired through Operations or purchased from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are pre-determined, players can freely customize their Accessory's weapon. Switching weapons incurs no penalties.
Here's a breakdown of each weapon type:
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Quick attacks, ideal for fast-paced combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks inflicting high damage. Well-placed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant ranged damage. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for strategic advantage. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by the rapid firing rate. Reduces movement speed. |
Note: Unlike the player character, your Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
