Sony and Santa Monica Studio are dropping the Dark Odyssey collection next week, a free update boasting a suite of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic Kratos outfits. This is part of a larger celebration marking the *God of War* series' 20th anniversary, as detailed in a recent PlayStation Blog post.
Dark Odyssey brings a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic to *Ragnarök*, enhancing the appearance of Kratos, Atreus, Freya, and their weapons and shields. The highlight? Kratos's new look is a direct homage to the God Mode reward from *God of War II*, a truly nostalgic treat for longtime fans. This gear is obtainable from any Lost Items chest in the main game or instantly in Valhalla mode after the update launches on March 20th. The update also introduces highly anticipated weapon appearance customization, allowing players to personalize Kratos's arsenal without sacrificing any abilities.
